DailyCut Terms
Last updated 6 October 2026
These terms cover DailyCut, the video editor at dailycut.ai. DailyCut is a Daily Letter LLC product (“DailyCut”, “we”). By creating an account, subscribing to or using DailyCut you agree to them and to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can use DailyCut, and your account
- DailyCut is for people aged 18 or older. By subscribing you confirm that you are. DailyCut does not verify age.
- You create your DailyCut account with your email address, which we confirm by sending you a link. You can add a passkey to sign in. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your email account and sign-in methods secure. If you think someone else has access to your account, email press@dailyletter.tv.
2. DailyCut is a paid service
- Editing requires an active, paid subscription to the DailyCut plan: $70 per month or $700 per year (USD), plus any applicable tax calculated at checkout. There is no free tier, no free credits, no free trial and no grace period.
- Creating an account does not give access to editing. Your account is kept while you decide, and you can subscribe at any time.
- Access requires an actual, successful payment for the current billing period. Discounts or coupons that reduce a payment to $0 do not give access.
- Access starts when our payment processor, Stripe, confirms your payment. Each renewal must also be paid: if a renewal payment has not succeeded when your paid period ends, editing stops until it does.
- If you cancel, you keep editing until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and then it stops. If a subscription is ended immediately or paused, or a payment is refunded or reversed (for example in a dispute), editing stops straight away.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. You can update your payment method, see invoices or cancel at any time from your account (Manage billing).
- Organizations that need more people or more processing can ask about DailyCut Enterprise. Enterprise is agreed separately in writing; these terms apply to it unless that agreement says otherwise.
3. Monthly usage
- The plan includes 25 source-hours and 25 rendered hours in each monthly usage period. Yearly subscribers get a fresh allowance every month. Unused hours do not carry over.
- Source-hours are the total length of the recordings you upload, counted once when a file is accepted. Three people each uploading a two-hour recording use six source-hours, even if the finished video is two hours long. Deleting a file later does not return its hours.
- Rendered hours are the length of exports that finish successfully. An export that fails is not counted.
- Automatic captions and the other AI tools are included within these limits. A recording that has already been transcribed in a language is not transcribed — or counted — again.
- When an allowance is used up, new uploads or exports of that kind wait until it resets; we never charge you more automatically. You can still open, edit, download and delete your projects. Your account shows what you have used and when it resets.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of the videos, images, audio and text you upload (“your content”).
- DailyCut produces transcripts, captions and exported videos from your content for your use.
- You give DailyCut the permission needed to store, process and deliver your content to provide DailyCut to you — for example to transcode it, generate captions, detect pauses, render exports and play shared videos to the people you share them with — and to handle safety reports and meet legal obligations.
- DailyCut does not use your content to advertise or to train AI models. Automatic captions are produced by Cloudflare Workers AI for us; see the Privacy Policy.
- You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including the consent of people who appear in it, and that your content follows the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Captions and transcripts are produced automatically and may contain mistakes. Check them before you publish.
5. Sharing
Exports are private until you create a share link. Anyone with a share link can watch and download that export. You can turn a link off at any time, and it stops working immediately. Share links also stop working while your subscription is not active. A share link cannot be created for material preserved under section 6.
6. Storage, limits and deletion
- DailyCut is an editor, not long-term storage. Files can be up to 3 hours long and 10 GB each; a project can hold up to 25 GB and an account up to 200 GB (logos you upload for templates count toward the account’s storage).
- Templates and logos are kept until you delete them, and creating, editing or using a template doesn’t use your monthly hours.
- Projects become eligible for automatic deletion, with their uploads, captions and exports, 60 days after your last activity on them — an edit, an upload, captions, Magic Cut, an export, a share link, or choosing “Keep”. Opening a project without changing anything does not count. The date is shown on each project, and projects due within 7 days are flagged in your account.
- Exports are deleted 60 days after they are made. Unfinished uploads are removed after about 24 hours.
- Automatic deletion applies whether or not your subscription is active. Keep your own copies of anything you need.
- With a subscription you can delete a project or a single uploaded file at any time. Without one you can still delete your projects, one by one or all at once, from your account.
- Deleting your projects does not delete your DailyCut account. To ask about that, email press@dailyletter.tv.
- When a shared video is reported for child sexual abuse material, the project it belongs to is preserved: you cannot delete it, it is not deleted automatically, and no new share link can be made for it, until DailyCut staff dismiss the report or release the preservation hold.
7. Enforcement
We may remove content, turn off share links, or suspend access for accounts that break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. A suspended account cannot edit even with an active subscription. We may report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires it.
8. Availability
We work to keep DailyCut available and your files safe, but DailyCut may sometimes be unavailable or change, and processing can fail; keep your original recordings.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we update the date above, and for material changes we show a notice in DailyCut to signed-in users.
10. Contact
Questions: press@dailyletter.tv. To report abuse or a copyright problem with a shared video, use the reporting process.
